Since 2016, MASAAI has been working on architecture, interiors and landscape, from small to large scale,

with projects that seek simplicity, essentiality and formal coherence.

Project philosophy

Context

MASAAI studio’s approach starts with an analysis of the context and a search for the genius loci.

We carefully select the essential characteristics of each space , to then re-interpret  them throughout the project in a critical and contemporary way.

Contemporary

We are interested in all the intangible processes that affect today’s social and cultural relations by shaping new spaces and habitats through architecture.

Sostainable

The focus of our projects  is not only on materials and their life cycle, but above all on architectural longevity, characterised by a simple, flexible and adaptable  spatial layout.

Fuori stile

MASAAI studio eschews chasing genres or styles, and rather focuses on producing architecture that aims to be clear, meaningful and timeless.

Method

We guide our clients through an integrated design process, acting as directors and as the sole contact point at all project stages, guaranteeing quality of implementation, adherence to schedules and cost control.

We take our clients’ budgets very seriously and calibrate our design responses accordingly. Through careful spatial planning, we provide appropriate project proposals, balancing budget and objectives.

Over the years, we have refined a method that provides for precise design phases, progressively defining objectives and detailed cost estimations.

Below, you will find our project development process:

Feasibility study

The start of each  project includes an analysis of administrative aspects.

By comparing previous projects and assessing the state of the site, it is possible to identify the constraints and potential of the intervention, and to correct any possible discrepancies.

Simultaneously, an initial cost estimate is prepared, which is necessary for the correct development of the project.

Concept

Conceptual design is at the core of each process.

This phase reflects the synthesis between the client’s needs and the studio’s architectural approach.

Personal expectations, creativity and technique, define the structure of our projects, together with special attention for financial considerations.  In this phase, coordination takes place with other professional figures, who are involved in contributing to the definition of the different project areas, together with the studio.

The end result is a complete and detailed plan that combines aesthetic, technical and financial aspects and transforms them into an architectural project.

Administrative procedures

In this phase, all documents required by various administrations to obtain work authorisations and permits are produced in a coordinated manner.

The constraints and project requirements that emerge in the previous phases of the project involve the choice, by the studio and the other professionals in charge, of the administrative procedure required to achieve the final result.

Work Management and Construction Site Management

After obtaining authorisation for the implementation of the project , the Studio, together with the Contractor, will define the construction site procedure.

For the duration of the construction work, the Studio, in its Works Management capacity, will provide meticulous  supervision to ensure the correct execution of the project.
